Opportunity: For my product, the people who have the need are scooter or bike owners who don’t own or wear a helmet. These scooter and bike owners need to wear helmets for their safety, but many do not. Through my research, I have found that a big factor in people not wearing helmets is that they feel uncool wearing them. I want to create a helmet that people are excited to wear. Because people have the need for a safety device that looks good, I think I can fill it. Geographically, this topic is pretty much restricted to only Gainesville, since we are the only school to really have scooters. There is no one set demographic, but it would be targeted mostly to college students, since they are the ones who normally use scooters. Customers are not satisfying their need, they are risking their safety for coolness. This opportunity could realistically take over Gainesville, but it would struggle outside of Gainesville. This opportunity will continue on as long as students don’t wear helm...
Michael,
ReplyDeleteI completely agree with you on the fact that most people do not wear helmets because they think it isn't cool. From my past experiences, my dad had a terrible accident and although a helmet might look dumb it saved his life. By making something that is attractive to students and ensuring their safety, I think this could be a very attractive business.
Mike, I would have to completely agree with you on your scooter helmet initiative. It is such a wonderful idea that you are bringing to the table. As a scooter owner and helmet fanatic myself, I truly believe that your plan to bring stylish helmets to all is the way of the future. As of right now I know a ton of people that own helmets that fit in their scooters and look just fine and work well with safety and they got them for free but I for sure would want to spend extra money on this concept!!! :)
