Forming an Opportunity Belief

1. I believe that an opportunity exists in the market for scooter helmets. If we had a lighter, more stylish (maybe customizable?), and smaller helmets that do the job just as good, I believe that a large number of people would buy and wear them.  2. A. The unmet need is a helmet that will not make people look bad. B. Students who own scooters and do not have a helmet to go with it have this need. C. This need is both legal and functional, as drivers under 21 are required by law to wear helmets, and those over 21 should want to not splatter their brains if they crash. D. There have been campaigns to get students to wear helmets, but nothing has been done to change the helmets themselves. 3. Interviewee 1: 21 year old scooter owner who goes to UF. 4. Interviewee 1: The need for people to wear helmets is really high, but I am not sure that an improved helmet would do well. I see people all the time not wearing helmets; even I don’t wear a helmet when I drive my sco...

My Entrepreneurship Story

Image
The first time I was exposed to the world of entrepreneurship was when I began to "flip" things on eBay at the age of about 16 or 17. I would (and still do) go to thrift stores and garage sales and buy things to resell. I have gone through periods of doing it full time, and I have completely stopped doing it for months at a time. It's a great "job" because I can put it down and pick it up whenever I want to, and I get to learn a lot about brands and the like. Just recently, I went to visit the Waldo Flea/Farmer's Market to buy some delicious salsa from Ms. Martha. I was walking around with my girlfriend just perusing the booths, and I found a gentleman selling video games. I looked through his games, pulled out a few GameCube Zelda's and other GameCube games, which I bought for $5 a piece. Because of my experience reselling, I knew I would make good money. Below is how I did: This number also includes a baseball glove I bought for $5, as well. In tota...

Bug List

1. It bugs me that the Chickfila under Standard is really slow. It is too slow because it is staffed by college kids. 2. It bugs me that there are only paper straws now. The reason that there are paper straws is to reduce waste, even though straws aren't what is killing turtles. 3. It bugs me when political protests turn violent. These turn violent because it affects people's livelihood, although both sides are trying to make the world better. 4. Traffic bugs me a lot. Traffic is created for literally no reason, I'm not sure why it happens. 5. It bugs me when my friends pressure me to do something I don't want to do. This depends, it could be to go out or whatever, it is because they want to hang out with me. 6. It bugs me when people say mean things about me. They are probably making it up, because I am a very nice young man. 7. It bugs me when I die in video games. I am bugged because I am not very good at video games. 8. It bugs me that I have to...
